“Irrespective of the scale of the project, my work as the art director remains the same”
– Thota Tharani
In the realm of filmmaking, a story takes its initial form in the creative minds of the writer, with a director later breathing life into it. However, it is the art director who plays the pivotal role of 'building the world.' The production designer, using color, objects, and a distinctive visual language, shapes the mood, atmosphere, and context of the film.
At V J Film House School of Cinema, students undergo a transformative learning experience where they master the art of visualizing concepts and bringing them to life, mirroring the intricate processes observed on actual movie sets. Our curriculum not only fosters this hands-on approach but also delves into the exploration of classic movies from the past, showcasing exceptional artistic work that serves as inspiration.
Furthermore, our commitment extends beyond the classroom as eligible students receive industry placements and continuous guidance throughout their careers, ensuring a seamless transition into the professional landscape of art direction within the dynamic world of cinema.
